Not sure about the crema business though, after 30 years of Morning stove top coffee it looked and tasted the same...maybe I’m doing something wrong? Instructions are basic but I think there’s a trick I don’t know about yet!

I first bought this product a few years ago - and I loved it !! Made awesome coffee. I recently bought another one, and have had opposite experience !! The coffee leaks from where the top section screws to the bottom section. I even replaced the product with another new one, same problem !!

Wanting to keep it simple, went the Brikka way over an electric machine. Buying the 4 Cup Brikka turned out to be a better choice than the 2 Cup version as the amount of of espresso made with the 4 Cup was barely enough for 2 persons. Espresso made with the Brikka tastes better than using the Moka probably due to the higher pressure and temperature. The amount of Crema produced was variable but definitely more than the Moka.

I've been using a coffee press that I have no complaints about, and I bought this Bialetti Brikka for fishing brews. I use it all the time now. I get good crema although it varies a bit ,depending on how rushed I am. I had to experiment with ground size and also the amount of grounds. My brew of choice every time.

Keep the heat low and take if from the hot plate when half way through the brew. Delivers a strong flavorsome cup with chocolate and fruity tones. Best results from freshly roasted and ground beans. Allow 3 brews to season the pot but the second will be drinkable but not perfect. Like all coffee, patience and knack go along way to producing a great cup. This is a great tool that will get you there.

I bought this machine to use when travelling in our caravan. We now use it in preference to our $1500 espresso machine. Love the flavour of the coffee from this little machine. If you grind your own beans you will want to set your grind a few points coarser (this machine brews at 2 bars of pressure c.f. 9 bars on the gauge of the espresso machine). It brews in about 3-4 minutes on the stove top. For textured milk I use the microwave oven to heat the milk to 60 degrees Celsius, then use a Bodum French Press to texture the milk (discovered this on Google). Move plunger up and down vigorously to double the volume of the milk, then leave to set for 1-2 minutes to set the texture nicely. The creamy, textured result is every bit as good as the expensive espresso machine.
