A super fantastic bargain on a really great RALLY RACING book! Superb!
Let me start off with this books' size! It is both "BIG" and "THICK"! The book is about 12" x 10.5" inches in shape and a little over an inch thick in pages! This book originally retailed for over $50.00 USD but you can find numerous unused and brand new copies of it on ebay for less then $16.00 dollars...A SIMPLY GREAT DEAL!!! The only problem I found with the book is that the binding is sewn with thread and may be perceptible to wear and tear! The book only covers the first 30 years of W.R.C. history but many fans and aficionados would agree that those were the best years! The book is segmented into (5) chapters or categories: Early Years, drivers, cars, courses and results. The book is basically an encyclopedia of everything rally racing related from the 30 years that are covered. Excellent resource material for things such as driver's records, biographies, vehicle stats, race results, point standings and numerous statistics and facts. Most of the photography is very well done and crispy clear! These are a few large photographs but most photos are either postcard size or thumbnail size. This is probably because the authors had to cramp as much information as they could into the book for it to be a "complete chronology" on the sport. I honestly think that most W.R.C. fans and gear-heads alike would love this book especially for the steal of a price that you can get it for! Not to mention also, that there are not too many books on W.R.C. Rally Racing available in the U.S.A. and not too many books written on the subject either! What few books are available, are usually only available or sold overseas and command very high prices. If you have a chance to purchase this book, "GO FOR IT!!!"...you will not be disappointed! Unless of course you are a fan of modern era NASCAR "Corporate Cup" racing and appreciate the most boring form of motorsport on the planet! Perhaps one hopeful day when NASCAR's ratings finally plummet straight down to the point of no return, we can demolish all those corporate cathedral speedways and turn the land into RALLY courses! We can reestablish Rally America and perhaps revive something like the OLYMPUS RALLY! Now there's and idea!!! In the meantime, at least we have things like lullabies and NASCAR to put darling little infants to sleep!Read full review
