Called The Black Pope by many of his followers, Anton La Vey began the road to High Priesthood of the Church of Satan when he was only 16 years old and an organ player in a carnival... On Saturday night I would see men lusting after halfnaked girls dancing at the carnival, and on Sunday morning when I was playing the organ for tent-show evangelists at the other end of the carnival lot, I would see these same men sitting in the pews with their wives and children, asking God to forgive them and purge them of carnal desires. And the next Saturday night they'd be back at The carnival or some other place of indulgence. I knew then that the Christian Church thrives on hypocrisy, and that man's carnal nature will out! From that time early in his life his path was clear. Finally, on the last night of April, 1966-Walpurgisnacht, the most important festival of the believers in witchcraft-LaVey shaved his head in the tradition of Ancient executioners and announced the formation of The Church Of Satan. He had seen the need for a church that would recapture man's body and his carnal desires as objects of celebration. Since worship of fleshly things produces pleasure, he said, there would then be a temple of glorious indulgence . . .

Very good book.
Bought a Satanic Bible for a couple of weeks ago(purchased at 29th Nov, received my book right after Christmas - such an irony, heh). I'm not a satanist or Devil worshiper, so I did this just for personal interest. So, this edition is a paperback, but this doesn't seems to be disturbing. No, really - this book is compact and lightweight, so you can literally keep this book in your pocket, if you want, and, if your pockets aren't too tiny, of course. Generally - this book is really great. It is well-written, and it is quite interesting to read. The quality of paper and printing itself is good, but maybe some people(like me) will notice, that it is impossible to make notes/comments or underlines in this book by using a pencil, because the paper seems to be too soft for that. And this is the only negative point about this book. But I think that this is not a problem, because this book is cheap and cost somewhere around 8 USD.Read full review

Not what you would think. A philosophy with a different perspective.
The satanic Bible is a book with pure philosophy. There is zero devil worship in this book. It is a perspective on life that can be enlightening and empowering to the reader. It will tell you what life is in a nutshell. We are merely creatures of this earth. Humans are just another animal living on this planet that has needs, instincts, desires and greet. This book puts all of our human traits into a form that can be used for our day to day benefit. This books enlightening ways will help you keep your self focused in life and enable you to reach life's full potential. Reach desires and future possibilities by making mindful decisions. It touches on acting on human Instinct Vs mental thoughtfully made decisions. Why lust is good for the mind and how it can be used to reach your goals. Educating the Ignorant
This book will awaken those who are ignorant to the common misconceptions about what the Satanic 'Church' represents. It is not EVIL and they DO NOT believe in God or Satan. Rather, it is almost a branch of Atheism and promotes free will, tolerance, social justice and to basically be a good person. In my view, this book needs to be apart of every school curriculum.
