In this small, pocket-sized volume, you will find practical phrases along with more in-depth vocabulary plus numerous entertaining cultural tidbits to help you get a more diverse view of Iranian culture. It is all written in a relaxed, non-intimidating style (something I often appreciate about the Lonely Planet series). The little Farsi/English-English/Farsi dictionary in the last fifth of the book is actually helpful, but not comprehensive, but I hardly expected that from something this compact anyway. I highly recommend this great value for my fellow newcomers to the fascinating, beautiful language of Farsi, especially those about to travel to areas where they can practice it (I can only wish I was!). It is full dictionary Farsi-English and English-Farsi. Perfect travel size! Font is easy to read. Great layout and choices of phrases. An incredible deal for the price. Among the best purchases I’ve made. I want to learn Farsi because my husband is half Persian. He speaks fluently, and translates Persian poetry. It is such a beautiful language, I want to understand the poetry in it’s true form.

In this phrasebook, they really thought of everything. It covers many subjects and gives the writing in Farsi for all words/phrases making it a nice study guide as well. Even though it is pocket book size, it is still easy to read.
