Looking for that vintage sound or 80's rock classic tone? This lil baby will help you get that. Want a more atmospheric approach? The MXR Phase 90 can do that to. From sharp fast zapping from something out of a sci-fi movie, to more slow prolonged melodic and rhythmic phasing like The Smashing Pumpkins sound on the likes of Siamese Dream and Melon Chollie and The Infinite Sadness. When putting together a pedalboard, this is a "must have", in my humble opinion! I love the fact that they give you a big rubber ring to put around the SPEED knob so you can adjust it with your foot during gigs! I do wish it had a level or "mix" control, as it is a pretty powerful effect and I'd like to use it more subtly sometimes!

I bought this to compare it to my early 70's EHX small stone phaser and found it had that distinct early Van Halen solo sound. It's clean and great for solos. The Small Stone had the vintage warmth that comes from an early pedal but I've yet to decide which I prefer. If you don't have a phaser pedal you can't go wrong having just this one.
