Incredible quality and sound!
This is my 3rd Behringer pedal purchase and I can't believe the quality and tone all of them have delivered. I've had very low expectations with each one, because of the extreme price difference compared to other brand pedals offering the same tones. As soon as I plug in and play I am beyond impressed. At this price point I will eventually own the entire line of Behringer pedals, simply because I can't find a reason not to.

Behringer TO800 overdrive
this pedal sounds great with all my guitars, OLP w/dual coils, a few inexpensive strat copies...provides a softer edged OD than other "so called Premier" :tube screamers". i have 2 myself and have modded( meaning: pulled the stock 4558 chip and inserted a socket for easy replacement/experimenting..the stock and JRC4558 sound vitually identical when heard side by side[minor EQ differences]) 2others for my friends. this sounds good with both tube and SS amps; say, Rocpro1000 and a Blues Jr...+ they push eachother or other pedals nicely when output vol is used in moderation.have to be careful of input signal strength to other transistor/op-amp driven devices...or its "POOF" to what you are driving!. i use mine in front of my VT999 and it works awesome. a great OD for areasonable price. the only pan i have is the batt replacement: the dual spring thingy...there are easier ways but it comes with the price tag range..BUT..the battery life on these are real good IMO if you unplug on your break. enjoy...use that saved money on that other behringer toy you have been considering!Read full review

Behringer Vintage Tube Overdrive TO800 Overdrive Guitar
This ridiculously stupid that something this cheap can sound so, so, so good....lol. Why pay big bucks for an Ibanez tube screamer? Some are now asking on ebay $500 for one. That's insane. This Behringer Vintage Tube Overdrive TO800 sounds practically as good as the real thing. I have a real one that I owned for over 15 years. Side by side it's super clone...not close ...clone. I took a chance on this because mine was reaching higher prices and getting old and will need a good cleaning from little shorts and statistic pot scratching from the many years of service. I wanted to replace it with something that could at least intimate it. Guess what?...I tried dozens of big brand names out there...spent 100's of dollars....and only 29 bucks on this one and it blew all the others out...all of them except the original !!!!! So where am I going with all this? This Behringer Vintage Tube Overdrive TO800 is better then all of the pedals out there that are suppose to do this kind of drive. It's even better then Ibanez's reissues! Ok so some of you out there are saying it's made cheap...but face it. It will last at least a year. ( I say longer being that Ibanez's T S 10's made back in the 1980's where made of the same plastic Behringer is using to make their pedals.) And at 30 bucks a year that's still cheaper in the long run then what a real Ibanez tube screamer is going for these days and will just get higher in price as time marches on. So 30 bucks into five hundred? You do the math.....Get one...you will not be disappointed in the tone. And sure ...sometimes you can buy a lemmon...but that can happen with any pedal. This is a great STEP on box, not a STOMP box.
The Good: I'm very happy with the sizzling tone. Much better than an OD pedal I paid 3x as much that was stolen. Smooth controls that actually work. It's full size stomp box with a weighted piece in the bottom. Not pone to tip over if not strapped down. "On" LED is not blinding like my Behringer Reverb, which was stolen and being held hostage in an unknown pawn shop along with my Nobels ODR I. No harsh click when pressing the foot switch. This pedal will lay down a thick layer of grit if you push it hard but for that blues sizzle the 10 O'clock position does great. The Bad: You get what you pay for, and in this case it's plastic. It's hard plastic but still plastic.It should serve well for home or back up use. Battery install in a pain. Like other Behringer pedals it is necessary to remove the foot switch to replace the battery. To put the foot switch back it is necessary to line up the spring loaded pins and I found myself getting rough with it to the point that I was afraid I would break it. Having a bottom door would have made this much easier I dislike the battery swap so much that I am building a rechargeable battery pack with 18650's and a toggle switch to power the pedal externally. Thanks to another reviewer I picked up this pedal at Sweetwater Sound for $20.00 shipped. I didn’t want to spend too much money as this is my first pedal. It is definitely worth the money. It does not come with a power supply so you will need to purchase one or a 9v battery. Sounds great on my mini Crate amp.

Tube Overdrive Pedal
This is the second one I have purchased. Added it to my pedal table as an experiment of having two overdrives running with other pedals. Happy with the results. But seriously when I saw the ad I thought the ad was for a tube screamer so I purchased it without really looking closely at that ad. No big deal still a great price. And if one fails I'll have a back up.

I've seen a lot of reviews knocking this pedal for its plastic construction. It's a very heavy plastic. Unless you stomp on your pedal with the strength of a dozen horses, I highly doubt you'll have any issues with this pedal. It does exactly what it says it does. It boosts your signal giving it a mild overdrive effect. Nothing extreme, but it's exactly what I was looking for.

If you’re on the fence about this item don’t be. It’s an excellent pedal. I have the Ibanez tube screamer that this is modeled off of and spent a few days comparing the two. Other than the metal vs plastic housing it’s almost identical. I guarantee if you were blindfolded you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I’m gonna gig with it, then I’ll be able to rate the durability. Like I said if you’re on the fence, don’t be. It’s worth every penny.

I was extremely happy with this purchase. I wanted to give this pedal 5 stars considering I paid less than $20 for it but I am a stop box user and try to avoid plastic if possible. That being said the sound quality is respectable. You will not find a better clone of the tube screamer overdrive for this price. If you were looking to expand your pedal collection butter on a budget this would make an excellent addition.

NOT TRUE ABOUT THE BATTERY YOU CANT GO WRONG
BERHINGER is a great source for me THEY SOUND BETTER THAN SOME HIGH END DRIVERS THE HINGE PIN IS SPRING LOADED PUSH THE PIN IN ON EACH SIDE THE PEDAL POPS OFF THE BATT IS RIGHT THERE, HOW INGENIOUS BETTER THAN A BATT COVER THAT BREAKS AND GETS LOST. THERE IS A HEAVY WEIGHT IN THE BOTTOM AND THAT MUST HAVE COST A LOT. FOR ME I AM OLD AND I CANT SPEND A LOT OF MONEY I AM HAPPY WITH THE SOUND I USE DELAY. WORKS GREAT .
