I am a beginner into photography. I am learning as I go. I use my Panasonic G85, which I love for video and like for photography, for work. I need a versatile and affordable lens to do macro shots and zoomed in shots. Initially I purchased, after the kit lens, 12-60mm, a 45-150mm lens. I love the 45-150mm lens, but I need more range, especially more wide macro shots, so I came across this lens. I didn’t realize there is a similar 14-140mm f3.5, as I purchased the 14-140mm f4-5.8. I can only speak to the lenses I have. I prefer the sharpness of the 12-60 and 45-150, BUT they both left me lacking. I am adjusting my camera to accommodate this lens and each time I make adjustments it causes me to learn, so not a bad thing. I’d buy this lens again without any hesitation as it meets my needs.Read full review

Excellent all in one lens going from wide angle to medium zoom. Small and light (though a bit pricey). There is one glaring problem. The image stabilization on/off switch is on the left hand side of the lens right near the area of the turning the zoom grip. I immediately knocked out the switch which looks like a small light switch. I super glued it back into place as well as putting clear tape over the switch to prevent from knocking it out. Clearly the switch is in a bad area of the camera. Why have the switch at all since we purchased the lens with the idea that the image stabilization is built into the lens!? Users beware!
14-140mm is a good range lens for me to do a run and gun documentary video on my af100, auto focus is faster then version 2 and quiet . But the aperture was f4-5.6. Not good when shooting low light.

It's a reasonably sharp lens both wide and telezoom. Don't expect razor sharp quality of premium lenses though. Picture quality is acceptable for simple photos (for the web, holidays, events) and DOF bokeh can be pleasing. No need for changing lenses quite often esp in fast moving events, perfect for traveling. Only drawback is it's quite big and heavy compared to other M43 lenses. But it's not that much compared to a DSLR equivalent so it's not such a big deal. Overall, a good all rounder, wide to long range and good value for money. Got a good deal from a Japanese seller (it was like new, spotless) they are reasonably priced in used condition. Comes with a hood too. Recommended.
comparing with 14-140mm ii & 14-150mm from Oly, it is a little bit heavy. and no zoom lock make it easy to slip to the longest focus length. also, it is little bit slow compare with new 14-140mm
