Paul Simon - Graceland: The Remixes [New Vinyl LP] 140 Gram Vinyl, Download Inse

Re:mixed thoughts about this one...
If you're a massive fan of Paul Simon's Graceland album, don't expect to find the same kind of love for this Remix album, unless you're a massive fan of electronic/ dance mixes. Whilst there are some beautifully abstract moments amongst the remixes, you will be lucky to find that you are able to sing along to these tracks in the way that you love to with the original record, as a lot of the lyrics/verses are not used. I like some dance music artist like Chemical Brothers and Fat Boy Slim, and love Thievery Corporation who remix a track on this album even, but feel that these remixes are mostly a little over cooked for my taste. Great concept, some tracks are nicely done, but overall would have been better if the songs were done more like covers in an electronic style rather than the full blown remixes which predominantly only sample parts of the original songs.
