Puccini - La Boheme, Live
25 March 2021
Great music, great recording, great singing great value
Very nice interpretation. All the principles are very good. Very nice to hear new fresh young voices. Conducting is also very nice, affording me the chance to hear many nuances in the music I never heard before. And the sound quality is beautiful.
Prismacolor Premier Water-Soluble Colored Pencils, 36-Count
17 July 2017
Brilliant color more than other brands.
Been using 24 count for about 2 years. Mix with other pencils, but this brand is my favorite for its deep color saturation. I needed to supplement some pencils which I used up. Could not find anyone selling individual pencils so I opted for the 36 count set. Now I have more freedom of expression with some new colors. The leads are very soft so they wear down quickly if you push hard for darker color effects, but the colors are very rich especially after you add water.
Pedagogical Sketchbook by Paul Klee

Paul Klee's ideas and teaching methods
It is hard for me to review a book like this as the contents are subjective. I am a painter in my 60's. I have been painting since I was 10 years old. In college I became aware of Paul Klee and read his diaries. My own painting style was and is very different but I loved his paintings and still do. I showed in Japan with a Japanese artist who also was inspired by Paul Klee a lot, and it was evident in his paintings. I bought this book thinking at this stage of my life it might propel me forward more than my first encounter with Paul Klee. Simply put, I was disappointed. I read the book in one afternoon and was left with the thought "is that it? Is that all he has to say?" But upon further reflection and contemplation, especially while I was painting I started to see his point, and I started to play a little with his ideas in my own drawings, and I became so inspired by it. It is always (for me) the simplest ideas and simplest solutions that seem to be the best ones. I expected the book to have lots of his illustrations and reproductions, it does not. It is a book for you to use for exploring and developing yourself as an artist through your thought process not the externals of your craft. After reading it I looked up his paintings on the internet and saw them with a new light. I still keep his thoughts in my mind when I work and even considered naming one of my recent sketchbooks "Pedagogical Sketchbook". So do I recommend it? Well not for everyone. But for those artists like me who know Paul Klee and admire his work, might find it illuminating in it's inimitable way. It is a short work, easy to read but lots of information might take a long time to contemplate and understand fully. I would recommend it to young artists trying to find their way, and to older artists like me who realize we still don't know it all and are continuously transforming and learning.
