I was able to straighten the metal lever part and went ahead and installed the unit. It seems to be functioning OK, but as my wife is sometimes having to turn this unit off I am preferring it to have the proper Red Control Knob. The customer did not note any shipping damage with UPS when they received it. If it was damaged during shipping, a claim should have been filed.
