Cheap and Easy Upgrade
A good solid metal upgrade from the plastic type. Went in easily to the rocker cover. Had to use the original plastic elbow connector on my May 2008 FG as it refused to budge from the inlet line. Took some persuasion to get the connector down on the valve top, but no big deal.

GETS THE JOB DONE
SThis cap works well. It's a pity that it doesn't have provision for a retaining strap like the stock one does on the Ford FG Falcon. However, it is possible to drill a small hole in the handle lug and attach the cap to the car with small diameter elastic cord, with a scrivet holding the cord to the original anchor on the car itself. That way you don't have to worry about resting the cap on the car when your're filling up and forgetting to put it back, then leaving it behind as you drive off.

NOT CHEAP BUT GOOD QUALITY AND EFFECTIVE
Around $100 seems a bit pricey for what amounts to two pieces of moulded plastic and a few screws. However, it's well made and easy to fit. It looks quality and dresses up the engine bay. The hardest thing is taking off the FG Falcon grill if you've never done it before. It entails pushing back several tabs that lock the lower section grill in position. My tip is put a blanket over the front bumper to protect the paintwork and use it to stop the tabs re-engaging in the slots while you're pushing out the next one. It's one of those fiddly jobs that seems tricky at first but becomes easy with experience. Much easier to put back in though. Instead of using the self-tapping screws supplied, I used my own cup two head bolts and nuts to ensure a more secure fix on the lower scoop. The stock screws work fine on the top part, and the adhesive strip is very grippy. Also, I used some narrow self-adhesive weather strip from Bunnings around the lower hose to airbox seal to ensure an air-tight seal. As per the suggestion in the instructions, I took out the stock restrictor "trumpet" insert in the intake side of the airbox. It's pretty tight but a combination of pushing and levering with a broad bladed screwdriver did the trick. The extra cold air forced into the airbox, especially at higher speeds, does seem to make the Barra six engine in my FG XR6 run smoother. I'm glad I bought it.
