NEW PROGEAR SURGE Mens' MTB Mountain Bike 26inch Green 19inch Alloy Frame

Great value for money, solid Mountain Bike with Shimano gearing.
Good value Mountain Bike. The Shimano 'Tourney' deralliuers, allthough market entry, are probably the most common in the market and have been fitted as standard by a lot of bike manufacturer's. Most bike mechanics know these inside out as easy to maintain. The frame is aluminium alloy (that is a lot heavier than carbon fibre composite frames - of course these cost at least 10 times more) but is robust and suitable for the bike's off road use. The mechanical disc brakes have good stopping power and are more than adequate for the intended use of this bike. The saddle is very comfortable and more that adequate. I found the assembly straight forward - the supplied instructions are a bit light on but more detailed videos are available at the 'Progrear' internet site. A torque wrench should be used to tighten all bolts to comply with the manufacturer's safety standards - this was not mentioned in the instructions but probably should be as an over tightened or loose bolt could cause a serious accident. I was able to fully assemble the bike and adjust the gearing and brakes in approx 60 minutes and was able to enjoy my first ride. Overall the Progear Surge is an honest, solid Mountain Bike that will take a lot of punishment off road as well as comfortably get you from A to B on road should you choose not to go off the solid surface. I am more than happy to give this bike a good review and recommend this Progear Surge to anybody looking for a value for money comfortable and reliable bike.
