eBay Fulfilment by Orange Connex

eBay Fulfilment by Orange Connex is a new solution for delivery of your items. The Orange Connex fulfilment centres, based in Sydney, take care of the storage, packing and delivery of your items at competitive prices.

This program is best suited to business sellers whose items can be sent with normal parcel sizes and don't require special handling. There are no minimum volumes required to get started on this program, however you will need an ABN.

The two primary fees are the fulfilment fee which covers picking, packing and dispatching your items once sold - this is based on the weight and dimensions of your product. There's also a storage fee charged per m3 per day and it is based on how long your inventory has been in the warehouse. Based on your individual requirements, there may be other fees and optional value-added services, such as handling and packaging, that can be charged.

Fees for using the fulfilment service are paid to Orange Connex. Sellers receive a monthly invoice, as well as a weekly itemised statement detailing their charges.

The choice of carrier lies with Orange Connex as the provider of the fulfilment service. Multiple carriers are used to maximise efficiency and cost savings. eBay works closely with Orange Connex regarding carrier performance.

When an order is fulfilled by Orange Connex, sellers will be protected against all of the following:

• Late shipment
• Seller cancellation due to items out of stock
• Negative or neutral Feedback (removed automatically if we detect a late shipment or shipment related defect, or can be manually removed)
• Delivery-related “item significantly not as described”
• Item Not Received claims
  

Orange Connex is a global logistics company based out of China. eBay does not own Orange Connex, however it does have a partnership with plans to roll out eBay Fulfilment globally.  

When you join eBay Fulfilment by Orange Connex, your seller account will automatically be whitelisted into the program. eBay Fulfilment helps you meet the listing criteria for 0-1 day handling, tracking on orders, and good delivery performance. You still need to make sure you meet the following criteria on your listings:

• Free standard postage nationwide*

• A reasonably priced express postage option to  metro areas^

• 30+ day returns accepted 

*Free postage nationwide within Australia, with no additional postage charge for multiple items. You can charge for postage to external territories (Norfolk Island, Antarctic Bases, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Island). You may exclude PO Boxes if your carrier doesn’t deliver there.

^For example, if your carrier charges $6 for standard postage and $10 for express, then you should only charge the buyer $4 for express postage. There is a $15 maximum express postage cost for eBay Plus badge eligibility.

Listings with an eBay Plus badge have greater visibility across the eBay site and better sales performance. We’ll also give you back up to $2.50 for listings under $15 and $4 for listings $15 and over for the cost of sending your parcels with express postage, which means you won’t be out of pocket. The eBay Plus badge only appears on listings that meet the criteria. If you do not wish to have any of your listings included in eBay Plus, please contact us.

Enrolling in eBay Fulfilment by Orange Connex can improve your search ranking by improving your BBE (Bad Buyer Experience) score. BBE Predictor is a model that we use to predict bad seller behaviour within the eBay marketplace. An eBay account with a lower BBE score will most likely receive increased listing discoverability than the higher BBE score eBay account. For listings using the eBay Fulfilment by Orange Connex service, the logistics performance related to BBE will not be calculated. Those listings fulfilled through eBay Fulfilment by Orange Connex will help reduce the seller’s BBE score and accordingly get the seller more exposure.

Currently there are two fulfilment centres based in Sydney, and another centre in Melbourne which opened in July 2023. As the program grows, we will monitor demand and base any further expansion on how to best meet our customers.

There is no need to do anything, eBay Fulfilment is already fully integrated with eBay.

Due to high demand, we aim to have someone from our fulfilment team get in touch with you within 7 days.

We recommend choosing fully tracked services, however there is also a partially tracked service available if you would prefer to utilise that for your lower value items. The service has an acceptance scan but no delivery scan.

Besides having an ABN, there are no minimum volume requirements to use eBay Fulfilment by Orange Connex. For maximised benefit of this program, we do recommend you have at least 10 orders a day to take advantage of the scale that Orange Connex offers.
